Information about the settlement was released in a court filing filed in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. While no further details are provided, a joint situation report from all parties involved is expected to be submitted to the court on August 18.

In 2020, Caltech won a lawsuit (starting in 2016) and Apple was initially ordered to pay $838 million in damages, along with $1.1 billion from Broadcom. But the trial has been postponed, and now, after several years of legal battles, this saga could end with a compromise before the end of the month.
