In 1982, Dr. He founded Adobe after meeting Charles Geschke while working at Xerox. Their first product was Adobe PostScript, a groundbreaking technology at the time that started the desktop publishing revolution.
Warnock left the CEO role in 2000 but served as Geschke’s chairman of the board until 2017.
He received the prestigious National Medal of Technology and Innovation from President Barack Obama for his technical achievements, as well as many other awards.
Adobe CEO Shantanu Naraen expressed his condolences to all employees of the company, stating that Warnock was a true renaissance man whose technological innovations changed the world.
Naraen also stressed that Warnock was his mentor and friend, and that his departure would leave a huge void in the lives of many.
