Rapper Timati and restaurateur Anton Pinsky became the new owners of the Domino’s Pizza pizzeria chain in Russia. This was announced by the ReBro Telegram channel of restaurateur Dmitry Levitsky, and later confirmed by Timati himself on his VKontakte page.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Levitsky, on August 30 Pinsky and Timati will present an updated brand of pizzerias.
The first Domino’s Pizza restaurant appeared in Russia in 1998. In March 2022, DP Eurasia, which operates the Domino’s Pizza brand in Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, suspended investments in the country and stopped accepting royalties from Russian operators. At the same time, 188 restaurants continued to operate.
On August 21, it became known that DP Eurasia had started bankruptcy proceedings. On August 22, Timati and Pinsky announced that they planned to purchase the network and relaunch it under a new brand.
Timati and Pinsky have already jointly relaunched Starbucks coffee shops in Russia. Since August 2022 they have been operating as Stars Coffee. The media reported that the purchase cost businessmen 500 million rubles.
