Specialists of the Perm National Research Polytechnic Institute have developed a technique for creating group and tree-like structures of the human body using 3D printing from polymers and carbon x electrical connections and ancient exoprostheses, and this technology itself is very promising for the treatment of patients with various causes of limb loss.
According to PNRPU, the results obtained during the research confirm the possibility of creating Exoprostheses with individual geometry achieved through 3D printing and smooth mechanical properties that ensure the use of continuous lines.
The exoprostheses created using this method are an analogue of a limb lost by a person, and their connections and, which is possible for an orthopedic specialist, for vision surgery, the geometry of the remaining parts of the limb and the further connection of the prosthesis and soft tissues is carefully studied.
In particular, scientists from Perm presented 16 variants of these prostheses, on the basis of which their physical interactions with muscle tissues were studied. Instead, they use different types of printing resins and different placements of light-enhancing carbon fibers.
