Russians were allowed to revoke consent to the processing of biometric data through the “Gosuslugi”

The government has passed a regulation that allows the withdrawal of consent for the processing of personal biometric data through a resource on the portal of public services. RBC writes about this.

In addition, through the “Gosuslugi” it is now possible to give consent to the processing of biometric data. This can be done in the user’s personal account.

Previously, in order to withdraw or consent to the processing of personal biometric data, citizens of the Russian Federation had to submit a written request to the MFC.

A few days ago, the work of the MFC in some regions was paralyzed due to the influx of Russians who wanted to refuse to collect their biometric data. The reason for the uproar was the message that August 31 was the last day that the Russians could independently refuse to collect their biometric data in a single system.
