According to the results of the first half of 2023, 87 companies changed their registration from foreign offshore to Russian. The interest in transferring companies to Russian offshores is due to the difficulties of their work with “hostile” countries and the restrictions that exist in Russia for foreigners.

87 companies moved to Russian offshores in the first half of 2023

In the first half of 2023, 87 companies previously registered abroad were registered on Russian offshores. This was reported by Izvestia with reference to data from the Ministry of Economic Development.

Russian offshore companies are located on the Russky Islands in the Primorsky Territory and on the Oktyabrsky Islands in the Kaliningrad Region. They are called SAR – Special Administrative Regions. In total, 267 companies are registered in the SAR, 80% of which are from Cyprus and 13% from the British Virgin Islands.

The interest in transferring companies to Russian offshore is due to the difficulties of its work with “hostile” countries and the restrictions that exist in Russia for foreigners, experts said.

On August 11, the shareholders and the board of directors of VK approved the redomiciliation of the holding: the company will stop operating in the British Virgin Islands and will continue to work in Russia.

Earlier it became known that the network of medical clinics “Mother and Child” will move from Cyprus to Russia – the shareholders of the company that manages the network approved the redomiciliation – which will take place within four to nine months.
