Having made a successful landing on the lunar surface on August 23 as part of the Chandrayan-3 mission, the Indian spacecraft Vikram delivered Rovergyan to the south lunar pole. According to Space.Com, after a little over 100 meters, both rooms were put into “sleep mode” in anticipation of the moon’s dawn, which will come about two weeks later on September 22.

Along with other space instruments, Vikram and Pragyan are powered by solar panels. But even though their onboard power supplies were fully charged, the Indian Forensic Research Organization (ISRO) decided to suspend operations. After sunrise, the lunar rover continues to move.

The success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission is Intia’s “pass” in the elite club of sovereignty, for many years they have been participating in lunar exploration, which includes the United States, Russia and China.
