Head of the ministry Maksut Shadayev confirmed this information, adding that negotiations are already ongoing.
Currently, the products of these companies are supplied to Russia within the scope of parallel imports. The Ministry of Digital Development believes that Russia has a chance to reach an agreement with manufacturers on the preliminary installation of RuStore on these devices.
The ministry is offering companies a model in which Russian applications will be automatically pre-installed when the device is activated. This will work if the user selects Russian language and Russia as the usage region.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to support domestic developments and strengthen Russia’s digital sovereignty.
However, its successful implementation depends on many factors, including the consent of international companies and the resolution of technical problems.
