The application developer Avroid (including the IT holding Fplus, formerly F+tech) on the Eastern Channel (VEF) presents a platform for running any Android applications on the Aurora OS.
The system creates a second workspace based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). This is a container that allows you to run any applications developed for the Android system.
A company representative said the Avroid platform will be sold separately. Exactly how much a license for the emulator costs is not specified. According to him, owners of smartphones on Aurora have access to thousands of mobile applications, including VKontakte, Yandex and Sberbank services.
We follow the path of development of the macOS ecosystem of Apple, which at one time lost to Microsoft Windows in terms of software range. Then Parallels came to the rescue, making it possible to run Windows applications in the Mac ecosystem. Now Avroid solves a similar problem – it allows you to run applications written for American OSes in Russia.
— Senior Vice President of PJSC Rostelecom Kirill Menshov
The experts interviewed believe that such an emulator can make the Aurora OS attractive to consumers. With this, the creators of the domestic radiating system can increase user resources, which will encourage large companies to release their own applications for it. [Коммерсантъ]
