The European Commission continues to comment on the new law, which introduces restrictions on entry into EU countries from Russia.

The EC, taking into account the situation with mobile devices, clarified that decisions on the implementation of sanctions are made by EU states, the EC only makes recommendations.

Particular attention should be paid to the fact that the country does not have the right to confiscate personal belongings of Russian tourists coming to the EU, for example, clothing.

EU countries cannot confiscate clothing from Russians entering EU territory, even if it imposes an import ban.

When it comes to valuable items and goods, strict precautions should be taken. If you are a Russian citizen and cross the border wearing prohibited clothing, it is unlikely that it will be confiscated.

– EC representative Balazs Ujvari said at a press conference in Brussels.

The message does not specify equipment, but it is likely that the same rules apply to it as with clothing.
