WhatsApp is evolving a filter to display only groups on the main screen. The functionality was found on Android in Beta version number 2.23.19.7. Web site WABetaInfo announced the news this Monday (11).
This feature is a filter at the top of the home screen, next to the “Unread” and “Contacts” options. When selected, the tool displays only the groups the user has joined.
Previously, the “Personal” option was offered in the interface and included both individual conversations and group chats. However, as the screenshot shows, the option has been renamed to “Contacts” and now only individual chats are displayed.
Since the function is still under development in WhatsApp Beta, even test users do not have access to this feature for now. However, since it is a simple plugin, it should not take long to be available for trial use.
Another feature planned for WhatsApp is the ability to access messages from other platforms. The function is a response to European Union legislation and must be implemented by March 2024.
