The European Commission has relaxed the ban on importing personal belongings by Russians

Modified on September 12, the commission updated the interpretation Article 3i. It highlights that cars are a category of goods that can be used to avoid sanctions. The explanation from the union’s executive body says nothing about smartphones, laptops and cameras.

Previously, the EC reported that the entry of Russians into Europe in private cars can be considered a prohibited import of cars, the European Commission explained. Other personal items such as smartphones, laptops and jewelry could also be confiscated, regardless of whether they are used for personal purposes or not.
