The Dell Alienware x16 is the thinnest gaming laptop with RTX 4080 or 4090 today. But if you buy it, you will have to accept some features of this model.
The Dell Alienware x16 chassis is made of metal. You can also easily open your laptop with one finger. Its weight is 2.6 kg, and with a 330 W charger – 3.6 kg.
As for the features, the new product comes with an Intel i9-13900HK processor (14 cores, 20 threads), Nvidia RTX 4080 165-175W graphics card, 32 GB DDR5-6000 RAM, 16′ display, 2560×1600, 165 Hz, 1. TB PCIe storage Gen 4 SSD, 90 Wh battery, Wi-Fi 6E support. The laptop also features RGB backlighting for all keys. You can adjust its brightness.
The Dell Alienware x16 has a mechanical keyboard (except for the top row of keys), so it’s louder than most laptops. But overall it’s not that bad.

In the US, you can now buy the base version of the Dell Alienware x16 for $1,800. However, this version will include RTX 4050. The model tested on the Jarrod’sTech channel costs $3,000, while the maximum configuration with RTX 4090 costs $400 more.
Dell Alienware x16 offers really good performance considering its size. However, you will not be able to increase the RAM capacity to 64 GB, and the screen brightness in all modes remains very low – 300 nits. But if you need a lot of BIOS and RGB customization and are willing to pay more for a slim laptop body, you’ll like the Dell Alienware x16.
