The company announced that new batches of AirPods Pro 2 will come with a USB-C charging case. This will allow iPhone 15 owners to charge their headphones and smartphone using the same cable.
Additionally, Apple announced that AirPods can now be charged directly from the iPhone.
This change is part of Apple’s strategy to gradually move to USB-C across its entire product line, including Macs, iPads, and even accessories like the Apple TV 4K remote.
However, it is also worth noting that the regular AirPods and AirPods Max headphones are unchanged for now and will not receive USB-C in the near future.
New software features such as Adaptive Voice and Speech Awareness will also be added to AirPods Pro. However, to get the new USB-C case, you will have to wait for the launch of the iPhone 15, which is scheduled for September 22.
