The monetization program was launched in Beta phase in February this year. In addition to Brazil, the tool is also available in France, Germany, Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom.

To participate, the user needs the following:

  • Being over 18 years of age;
  • Having 10 thousand or more followers;
  • Collect at least 100k views in the last 30 days.

What kind of content will be rewarded?

According to TikTok, the Creator Program will pay creators who:

  • Videos longer than 1 minute;
  • Original videos;
  • High quality creations with “great editing and filming.”

The platform doesn’t go into detail about what defines a “great shot” or how the evaluation will be conducted. At the end of the support text, the platform gives tips on how to become a good content creator.

Participation in the Creative Program is completely optional and it is not possible to return to previous funding once registered in the model. So far TikTok has not announced when the old fund will be abandoned.

The Creative Program is just one of several monetization methods available on the service. Users can also earn money through lives, gifts, tips and TikTok Pulse subscriptions.
