VTB filed a lawsuit for 113 million euros against its former subsidiary in the EU

At the request of VTB, on September 14, the court seized as collateral a number of assets held in the account of VTB Bank Europe SE in the VTB warehouse. The court confiscated all securities deposited in securities accounts at other depositories, within the limit of the amount of claims, writes Kommersant referring to the materials of the case.

The British subsidiary VTB Capital plc left the VTB structure in 2022. Money has been blocked in the accounts of the German VTB structure since the introduction of sanctions in spring 2022. VTB’s total losses amounted to 209 billion rubles .

  • In July 2023, VTB reported record profits in the first half of the year. The bank’s net profit for the first six months of this year amounted to 289.8 billion rubles. VTB’s net profit growth was positively influenced by currency revaluation and income from the merger of RNKB bank. The bank earned 100 billion rubles from the revaluation and 35 billion rubles from the merger of the bank.
