When planning trips on public transport, Yandex.Maps will start offering passengers a route option that includes ordering a taxi to a metro station. This is indicated in the Yandex message.
Now similar routes are available in the Android application in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The service itself calculates the optimal station to start the trip and the total travel time, taking into account the traffic situation. Therefore, the initial station can be located not on the nearest metro line, but on the neighboring one, if this allows you to get there faster or there will be fewer transfers.
A taxi can be ordered directly at the route selection stage. The service’s cartographers marked 936 passenger drop-off points, taking into account data on lanes, signs and parking. They are places where taxi drivers can stop the car without breaking traffic rules and where passengers can walk a short distance to the subway.
Previously, the 2GIS mapping service began to calculate walking distances and transfers when choosing routes on public transport. It also included a route schedule and information about the first and last flight.
