In drop tests, it was observed that the rounded titanium edges of the iPhone 15 Pro caused the impact to spread to the front and rear glass and cause spider cracks to appear. On the other hand, although the stainless steel frame of the iPhone 14 Pro is more easily exposed to impacts and scratches, it provides better structural integrity and ultimately keeps the phone in better condition.

The properties of stainless steel as a material allow it to act as a shock absorber to some extent and bend under load, while titanium is a harder material, causing shock to spread to other parts of the device.
