This Wednesday (27) Meta held Meta Connect 2023, an annual event where new features for the company’s core services were announced. Focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and experiences that merge the real and the digital, some of the main new features include big tech’s social networks.
Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Facebook Stories will get new AI-enhanced stickers next month (for English users only). Stickers will be generated automatically by simply typing a specific command.
For example, people can type “a pizza playing basketball” and a sticker representing the text will be created. Check out some examples below:
In addition, Instagram, which works with artificial intelligence, will receive Restyle and Background features. The first one can edit the images you recorded with your mobile phone’s camera with just commands. The tool can place a watercolor filter by simply typing “watercolor” into the command.
Background can also remove backgrounds from images with a single command. All you have to do is type “put me in front of a gorgeous northern lights” or “surround me with dogs”; The platform will automatically perform the conversion.
Anyone with an account on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram will also have access to Meta AI, an artificial intelligence that can simulate conversations with people. Meta AI will have more than 25 personalities based on text conversations and real artists like Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady. The innovation will reach the United States first.
More AI and metadata news
Even though the word is out of use, Meta continues to invest in metadata. The goal of combining technology with artificial intelligence is to create fun new experiences for business. In this sense, take a look at the other solutions announced at Meta Connect 2023 below:
- Meta Mission 3: New mixed reality glasses equipped with Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2. They are independent of computers or consoles. Priced at US$499.99 (approximately R$2,500), Quest 3 will be available in many countries (not including Brazil) from October 10;
- artificial intelligence studio: Platform that supports the creation of our AIs, and we plan to make it available to people outside Meta (programmers and non-programmers) to create new AIs;
- Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses: These will be the first smart glasses to be released with Meta AI. For example, they will be able to broadcast live directly through the glasses without the need for a mobile phone, and will be sold on October 17 for US$ 299 (R$ 1,500).
