The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to bring listeners to the YouTube Music platform.
It had previously announced that podcast support on YouTube Music in the US in 2023 would be expanded globally by the end of the year.
To make it easier for users to migrate to YouTube Music, Google will offer migration tools and the ability to add podcast RSS feeds to the music service’s libraries.
Utilities will be available in the coming weeks or months. Google will also provide the ability to download an OPML file containing show subscriptions from Google Podcasts that can be imported into any other application.
