Roskomnadzor plans to issue an order according to which, from March 1, 2024, VPN services in all application stores, including Play Market and App Store, will be blocked.
According to the deputy chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Soviet Federation, Senator Artyom Sheikin, this will happen if the services provide access to resources blocked in the Russian Federation. This also applies to services that provide access to Instagram* (banned in Russia, owned by the recognized extremist “Meta”).
I would like to note that it is especially important to monitor citizens’ access to the products of Meta*, a recognized extremist organization.
