An analogue of Genotek appeared abroad – the Eligens company. The LinkedIn profile of Genotek co-founder Valery Ilyinsky states that since January 2023 he is also the CEO and founder of Eligens, notes RB.RU.

The co-founder of Genotek launched an analogous service abroad: it is called Eligens and is not available in Russia.

Genotek offers comprehensive DNA testing services. The Eligens website also states that the company offers DNA testing with worldwide shipping. The Genotek and Eligens logos are similar.

On the Eligens website you can select the Russian language, but it was not possible to access it from Russia without a VPN. When you try to access the resource, the following message appears: “Unfortunately, eligens.io is not available in your country.”

From the description on the Eligens website it follows that the new company is headed by the co-founder of Genotek and Eligens Europe (Latvia) Valery Ilyinsky, the head of the Eligens Asia office (Armenia) Artem Elmuratov and the head of the Eligens Office LatAm (Brazil) Diego de Azevedo Couto.

The company’s offices are located in Latvia, China, Brazil and Armenia.

Ilyinsky, in response to a request from RB.RU, said he was not willing to comment on the issue. Elmuratov also did not respond to the editor’s message.

“Artem Elmuratov and Valery Ilyinsky are currently not involved in the management of Genotek. Genotek has no connection with other activities of the former founders. The company is forming a management team that will consist of key employees. “The departure of Ilyinsky and Elmuratov will be completed soon and a new management will be presented,” a representative of Genotek’s press service told RB.RU.

They also added that “the problems with the logo will be resolved by the new management team.”

Genotek is a Russian company that offers human genome analysis services. Founded in 2010 by graduates of the Faculty of Mechanics, Mathematics and Biology of Moscow State University Valery Ilyinsky, Artem Elmuratov and Kirill Petrenko. In late 2020, Genotek raised $4 million and Yandex became the lead investor in the round.
