Russian Post compared the volumes of overseas shipments in the third quarter of 2023 with the same period in 2022 and found that the most significant growth was shown by shipments to Georgia, Argentina, Serbia, the United Arab Emirates and China, the company said in a release.
At the end of the third quarter of 2023, traffic volumes to Georgia tripled year-over-year, or 216%. The country strengthened its position in the list of the most popular export destinations, moving from 38th to 25th place. Clothing and shoes, jewelry, beauty and health products, books and stationery, as well as spare parts are sent to Georgia from Russia. for sports teams.
In July-September of this year the number of packages to Serbia almost doubled, that is, by 92%. In 2022, the country ranked 19th in this indicator in the general Post Office export ranking and, according to the results of the third quarter, entered the top ten most popular destinations. Dental equipment, dietary supplements, children’s construction sets, books and household goods arrive in Serbia.
In addition, according to the results of July-September, Russian Post noted an increase in the number of shipments to Mongolia (by 134%), Montenegro (by 128%), Argentina (by 106%), Mexico (by 86%), the United Arab Emirates (36%) and China (10%).
The most popular country for postal exports is the United States, followed by China.
In September it became known that the company wants to open a subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates. Subsequently, the Federation Council noted the “very sad” financial situation of the company. It was reported that the Correos board of directors will conduct an independent audit of the company’s expenses and evaluate the financial model and the need for additional government support.
