The next generation chips will be called Snapdragon X Series, distinguishing them from the current 8cx series.
Qualcomm Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Don McGuire confirmed in a blog post that the new chips will use Orion CPUs.
He noted that the newest solution would represent “a significant leap forward in performance and energy efficiency.”
Qualcomm will also introduce new logos and icons for the system. The “X” is expected to help differentiate PC chips from other Snapdragon products such as smartphones.
Oryon is based on cores developed by Nuvia, the startup that Qualcomm acquired for $1.4 billion in 2021.
