An anonymous person spoke about this issue on a popular hacker forum and said that he was able to organize a data leak from the company 23andMe. According to him, he had “the most valuable data imaginable.”
The company noted that some accounts are connected to its DNA Relatives service, which allows you to find genetic relatives and review your genealogy. Data about relatives may also be compromised.
An internal investigation is reportedly ongoing.
