We are talking about actor Milogost Recek, who originally voiced the character Victor Vector in the Polish version of the game. Retzek was set to reprise his role in the DLC but passed away in 2021. CD Projekt Red received permission from Recek’s family to use artificial intelligence to clone his voice in his memory.
To do this, the company collaborated with Respeecher, a Ukrainian company that specializes in voice technology and is known for creating Mark Hamill’s voice in the movie “The Mandalorian.” Another actor spoke new lines, which were then converted into Recek’s voice using Respeecher software. CD Projekt Red localization director Mikołaj Šwed called Reczek one of Poland’s best voice actors and noted that he made a significant contribution to the Witcher game series.
