The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This issue was discussed at the government meeting on October 12.

As stated in the order, this year the construction of the hull of a new cruise ship of the Karelia project will be completed on the basis of funds from the state reserve fund. The ship is being built at the Krasnoye Sormovo plant in Nizhny Novgorod. The construction of this cruise ship is planned to be fully completed by 2025.

The subsidy program, launched in 2017, aims to renew old ships and ships that no longer meet modern safety standards.
