A travel influencer posted a video about how she just discovered a little-known Google “cheat code” to find the cheapest flights anywhere in the world.
A day after the video was posted, it received 4 million views and more than 201,000 “saves” from people planning to try the hack.
“Did I just unlock the cheat code or did everyone know?” the British influencer calling herself Around Atlas asked her followers.
What’s the Google trick to find cheap flights?
The influencer explained step by step:
- “Once you are inside, write down the destination you are departing from.”
- “Leave your departure and return dates blank and click Explore,” he added.
- And voila: a map appears with the cheapest flights around the world.

Users did not wait for comments about the trick:
“I travel a lot and always use Google Flights. Although I didn’t know this “anywhere”, thank you,” one person wrote.
“Apparently if you search in incognito mode they are even cheaper,” a second person added.
However, the user noticed a large number of stops on one of the flights.
What Google Flights Says
Google Flights can now also tell you the cheapest time to book your trip.
Based on “robust trend data,” the new search feature allows you to understand whether prices are overpriced or underpriced.
“For example, this data might tell you that the cheapest time to book these types of trips is typically two months before departure, and you’re currently in that sweet spot,” Google said in a blog post.
“Or you may find that prices tend to drop closer to takeoff, so you decide to wait before booking. Either way, you can make this decision with more confidence.”
