It turns out that although paintings created by real artists evoke deeper emotions, AI works can also inspire and evoke an emotional response.

In the experiment, participants were presented with abstract black and white images, indicating whether they were human-made or computer-generated.

Participants evaluated the pictures and expressed their feelings and assumptions about the author’s feelings. The results showed that the majority of participants experienced emotions from all presented pieces, regardless of their origin.

However, the interesting point is that works created by real artists evoke stronger emotions, even if the information about their authors is given incorrectly.

This emphasizes the special importance of the human contribution to art. However, the study confirms that AI paintings can inspire and delight, albeit to a lesser extent than real works of art.
