Put down the oil bread or your morning toast may be a fairly simple and mundane routine, but for science it can be a gateway to understanding people’s personalities.
Human behavior expert Darren Stanton Nottinghamnoted that after psychological research there are 9 personality types.
For example, research has shown that “planners” are those who slide a knife across bread to spread it evenly, which 50 percent of 2,000 adults surveyed said they do and rated as calm.
Dr Stanton said: “In the seemingly mundane act of laying out toast, layers of our personality are revealed. Some spread precisely, others spontaneously: the way they spread reflects our perseverance, patience and attention to detail. “This seemingly simple task becomes the canvas of our subconscious, revealing traits we may not even be aware of.”
Who are you based on the way you butter your bread?
- Gliders: These are the ones that slide a knife over the bread to distribute evenly. This method is the most common of all types of diffusion and can show that a person is calm, relaxed and peaceful by nature, even when faced with change. They follow up regularly and are always on time for appointments or appointments.
- Full coverage: They are very methodical people. They make sure every inch of the bread is covered and the right amount of spread is applied evenly across the entire surface. Leaving something unfinished on toast for them is like leaving something unfinished in life. They tend to be very precise people who follow their own rules and like “everything in its place.”
- Clumsy: People who scrunch up their spread don’t care about missing pieces of bread, or where the lumps or bumps are, or even whether the spread is thin or thick. They tend to behave rather sporadically and think outside the box in life. They will be the type of person who is late for meetings and always thinks they have more free time than they actually do.
- Those who spread too much butter: This group of people usually have a very happy nature. They see the best in life, which is reflected in their toast getting plenty of delicious spreadable butter. When it comes to parties or get-togethers, guests have a good time as happiness, along with open-mindedness, is a key character trait for this type of promoter. Last but not least, they love to pamper themselves.
- Those who never touch the crust of bread: People who do not go all the way to the edges are very clean and tidy. This makes them very procedural. Everything needs to be in its place because those who avoid barking are perfectionists who are afraid of making a mess. Since they are organized people, they are probably excellent at managing life and super organized, but they don’t necessarily shout about it.
- Those who spread information on both sides. These people are usually the most unique of all distributors. These are creative people who use the abstract side of their brain. Very few people spread their bread on both sides. Bilateral people are moderately extroverted and do not mind standing out from the crowd. They enjoy life to the fullest, whether it’s enjoying every moment of their vacation or making delicious toast. They are likely to be extravagant in their clothing and appearance.
- Tearing and Scattering: People with the bread-tearing personality trait don’t like surprises and don’t like to perform worse than what they know they are capable of. Breaking bread means preparing which piece of toast they will eat, not dipping into a whole slice or half. This person has good communication skills because he is used to breaking things down and thinking in different ways, using his ability to build trust and good relationships with other people.
- Curve Spreaders: They are perfectionists, a group of people who tend to do things their own way. They always believe that their way is clearly the best.
- Those who use minimal amounts of butter: These people tend to live in the moment and are quite “outdoorsy.” They are “ambitious” guys and don’t rest on their laurels, so it can be very difficult for some to keep up with them. The lack of spread also means that they want to spend as little time as possible at breakfast. They prefer to go outside and enjoy the day.
