Megafon will expand its line of push-button phones under its Fontel brand, the company said in a statement. By the end of 2023, the operator will begin selling six new push-button phone models.
The company launched its own Fontel brand in early 2023. The first Fontel FP 200 push-button phone was available for purchase in January.
According to the company’s own data, based on the results of July-September, the brand occupies a fifth (20%) of sales of all push-button devices in the operator’s retail market. The launch of our own brand allowed us to increase the sales share in the push-button telephone segment by 10% since the beginning of the year.
In 2024, Megafon plans to increase its share of sales in the push-button segment to 35% in the retail networks of Russian telecom operators.
All of the company’s new models have a color screen, FM radio, flashlight, player, voice recorder, alarm clock, calculator, slots for microSD and two SIM cards, and a high-capacity battery that lasts several days.
The development and supply of Fontel phones is carried out by Revo Charge, a subsidiary of Megafon. The stores of the united retail chain Megafon and Yota will be the first to start selling the new models.
