The Turkish authorities have tightened the rules for issuing residence permits. If before you could obtain a residence permit by purchasing real estate for an amount of between $50,000 and $75,000, now it is necessary to spend at least $200,000. The new rules will apply in all regions of the country.
Turkey has raised the minimum amount for purchasing real estate in the country to obtain a residence permit to $200,000, writes RIA Novosti citing a source from the Turkish Migration Department.
Previously, to obtain a residence permit, a foreigner had to buy real estate for $50,000 in small cities or $75,000 in large cities. Now the minimum amount is $200 thousand.
The new rules will apply to all real estate transactions completed on or after October 17. The minimum real estate purchase amount applies to all regions of Turkey.
By the end of 2022, Russians issued 153,000 residence permits in Turkey, the agency previously reported.
