Windows 11 25977 now has animated icons showing active and inactive network, just like on smartphones and before in Windows 7, the latest operating system generation that had animated Wi-Fi and wired network icons. There were no such symbols in subsequent generations.
In Windows 11, a globe with a ban sign is used to display a disabled network. As Windows Insider Senior Program Manager Brandon LeBlanc noted, the developers only wanted to release these icons in the next version. But in the end, they decided to use dynamic, not static, that is, the best indicator of when Windows 11 is connected to Wi-Fi or when the wired network is started.
