Russian Railways will test warm benches at train stations. The company began installing infrared heaters above the benches that turn on when a person approaches. So far they are only found at one station, but it is planned to install them on the entire route network of Russian Railways.
Infrared heaters have begun to be installed above benches at train stations. This was reported by the Russian Railways news channel.
Currently, infrared heaters are installed only at the MCD-3 station Zelenograd – Kryukovo. They light up when a person approaches or sits on a bench.
“We plan to soon distribute similar technologies on platforms across the entire railway network,” Russian Railways said.
In August, Russian Railways introduced a new range of double-decker bistro cars on long-distance trains.
Russian Railways is also preparing to conduct an experiment to allow entry to long-distance trains using biometric data instead of document verification.
