In the period from July 1 to September 30, Xbox generated $3.9 billion in revenue from its gaming business, up 9% year over year. The company attributes these successes to the strong performance of its own games and the Game Pass service.
Particularly interesting is the release of Bethesda’s long-awaited Starfield, which attracted more than 10 million players in the first few weeks of its release.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed that the game made a significant impact on Game Pass and broke the record for the most subscriptions on the day of its release.
However, despite a 13% increase in content and services revenues, the hardware segment’s performance fell 7% due to a decline in console sales.
