In Russia, the popularity of paying for purchases and transferring funds through the Faster Payment System (FPS) continues to grow, according to data from the Central Bank. In the third quarter of the year, the number of purchases made through this service increased by 38% compared to the previous quarter.
The number of transactions per day is constantly increasing and amounts to approximately 21 million. In total, in the third quarter, Russians carried out 1.9 billion such transactions through SBP. This is 15% more than in the second quarter. The share of payments for goods and services in the total number of transactions in the SBP reached 24%.
The average amount of transfers through the system also increased: in the third quarter it amounted to 5.2 thousand rubles, compared to 4.8 thousand rubles in the second quarter.
Payments to citizens of various legal entities increased by 10% (insurance payments, broker payments, etc.). In the third quarter they reached 13.4 million and their total amount increased to 77.8 billion rubles.
In total, in the third quarter of the year, every second resident of the country made transfers through St. Petersburg. One in three Russians paid for services and goods using the system. On average, a resident made 17 transfers and paid 10 purchases through the SBP in the third quarter of 2023.
During the quarter, the number of commercial and service companies that introduced payments through SBP also increased, the growth was 20%. The vast majority of them are small and medium-sized companies.
In July, the Yandex Go service added payment for taxi rides through the Quick Payment System.
