UltraSpace is a new technology that allows you to increase the available storage space of your smartphone without adding additional physical memory.
For example, when purchasing a Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone with 256 GB of storage, the user actually gets 264 GB of total storage thanks to the additional 8 GB of free space.
This “surprise” was made possible by optimizing the space allocated for Over Provisioning (OP) on the UFS memory chip.
Xiaomi rewrote the system software and optimized it to free up an additional 8/16 GB on models with 256/512 GB memory.
This is a significant increase in memory, which can be useful for storing more applications, photos, videos and other data.
