The Beatles performed their “last song, ‘Now and Then.’
The track is based on a demo that the late John Lennon recorded back in 1978. The recording itself was in very low quality, but director Peter Jackson managed to withstand excess noise, tighten up the vocals, and make other improvements with the help of artificial intelligence.
In addition to Lennon, the composition features a guitar solo and backing vocals by George Harrison from the archive of studio sessions from 1995. Ringo Starr recorded a new drum part and Paul McCartney recorded a new bass part. McCartney also added a string arrangement written with the help of Giles Martin, son of the late Beatles producer George Martin.
I think that’s enough. But the musicians also decided to add backing vocals from the original Beatles records “Here, There and Everywhere,” “Eleanor Rigby” and “Because.”
Thus, all members of the group “united” in creating the final composition.
The new song has already appeared on YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify. It is not available on these services in Russia, but you can listen to it on VK. Enjoy.
