macOS Sonoma 14.1 comes with a built-in Liquiddetectiond utility that ensures liquids get into your Mac, reports 9to5Mac.
It runs in the background and now every USB-C port on your Mac. Liquiddetectiond’s description says it detects liquid and corrosion.
iPhones and iPads have a similar feature that can alert users to water exposure. But on Mac there are no such alerts.
It is likely that data on Liquiddetectiond operation is available only to employees of authorized service centers.
It is also currently known whether this feature works on all Macs or only on new Macs with M3 processors. [9to5Mac]
