The home projector has long been an unattainable miracle. Depending on your wishes and budget, you can choose an excellent alternative TV to watch movies on the big screen, like in a cinema, and not on the sofa.

However, all the projectors that I have tested have their own disadvantages that the TV does not have: fan noise during operation, the need for a special screen, and most importantly, insufficient picture brightness.

That is, if you turn off the lights in the evening and close the curtains, the projector will display perfectly. But if you want to watch a movie during the day, you will have to put up with faded images, although the device’s characteristics state that it has a powerful lamp.

Until recently, I was sure that this was a weak point for all projectors. But a few days ago the JMGO N1 Ultra appeared on my desk and my opinion changed dramatically.

This projector is so good that Even without a special screen, in the daytime with open curtains, it shows an almost ideal image in terms of weather conditions and quality.. Sounds implausible? But look at it for yourself!

What is JMGO N1 Ultra, which is simply the king among projectors

Laconic design, nothing superfluous.

The history of this device began on Kickstarter, where the creators offered to vote with dollars for the creation of a truly convenient and bright project. At that time, the JMGO line already had some good models from the brand, but it didn’t have the best.

At the time of the launch of the N1 Ultra brand campaign, JMGO already owns its own optical laboratory, founded in 2014. Moreover, experienced specialists from leading corporations such as Apple and Samsung have already worked in this laboratory.

The fact that people are actually doing this business is confirmed by the number of patents applied within the JMGO: to date there are exactly 581 of them. It is clear that many of the features and technologies from these patents were used to create the JMGO N1 Ultra.

As a result, the necessary conditions were collected on kickstarter, production of N1 Ultra was launched, and the result was simply wonderful. The light comes from a premium 4K laser projector with 2,200 CVIA lumens of brightness and smart settings like Medium Traditional Keystone, Blue Light Eye Protection and more, detailed below.

The JMGO N1 Ultra is based on a new generation patented optical design based on a three-color MALC Triple Color Laser Optics. It is thanks to it that the image is as bright and saturated as possible, and most devices from other brands are left behind.

On November 1, 2023, the JMGO brand officially came to Russia, so you can easily purchase any of the three projects in section N1 with an official guarantee and technical support.

And now I’ll show you the top-end N1 Ultra from all sides.

Appearance, connection

What’s in the box: Keys, instructions, power supply, remote control, projector and stand removal key.

JMGO N1 Ultra is housed in a polystyrene foam case, which in addition to the device itself contains a power cable and a remote control. The case is equipped with a comfortable handle.

The projector is already equipped with a stand that allows you to adjust the N1 Ultra’s tilt up and down by 135 degrees, as well as rotate it right and left around its axis by 360 degrees.

The material of the device and stand is matte plastic. The size of the projector without stands is 24.7×20.3×23.5 cm, weight with stand is 4.2 kg.

On the back of the projector you can find several useful connectors:

● two HDMI inputs
● One USB 2.0 Type A port.
● 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones or external speakers.

The power connector is hidden in the stand, the solution looks elegant. Also on the stand there is a visual power button with a light indicator for the projector operating mode.

The front part looks stylish thanks to the glass panel. This included a CMOS camera responsible for automatic brightness and sensors, including for detecting changes in front of the projector.

Thanks to it, the light will not blind you if you accidentally find yourself in front of the JMGO N1 Ultra: in this case, the lamp will simply turn off until you move away from the straight line.

Behind the case there are also holes for cooling the projector, old fans. But here’s the luck: you can’t hear them at all. And this is not a figure of speech; the fans really operate almost silently.

Moreover, if you bring your hand to the body, you can feel a stream of warm air being blown out. In my memory, this is the first projector that operates completely silently.

Filling, shell, chips

Thanks to the design of the stands, you can even watch movies on the ceiling.

The image in JMGO N1 Ultra was formed using a NUMB12T laser with a service life of more than 30,000 hours, created by JMGO engineers together with the Japanese company Nichia.

This laser has advantages such as 10-15% higher efficiency, 40% smaller size, 10% better heat dissipation, and approximately 30% lower cost compared to the more widely used 14-chip and 28-chip lasers in projectors. . .

The principle of laser operation in JMGO N1 Ultra.

Thanks to the fact that this laser, along with support for triple color laser optics and HDR-10 support for an expanded range of brightness and color tones, the image has virtually none of the “grain” that is inherent in most projects. Simply put, the image looks very TV-like, like you’re watching a movie on a top-end QLED panel.

The maximum image resolution transmitted by the projector is 3840 x 2160 pixels. Contrast ratio 1600:1. Blacks appear deep, truly black. Nice to watch.

The projector can be placed at an angle to the wall, it will adjust itself.

For audio, the N1 Ultra has two 10W speakers with support for Dolby Audio and DTS. The acoustics were created together with the Dynaudio brand. The sound is quite balanced and clear. And most importantly – very loud.

Already at 60%, it becomes literally uncomfortable to be in the same room with the projector, and there is still a margin of 40%. According to personal feelings, 30% of the sound is what you think, and 50% of the time you feel like you’re in a movie theater with panoramic sound.

Setting up the projector takes literally zero minutes with built-in software powered by the proprietary JMGO algorithm to perform device-based keystone and focus correction.

Simply put, all you need to do is take the projector out of the box, plug it in and point it at the wall. After a few seconds, show a perfectly clear and bright picture.

By placing the N1 Ultra 2.5 meters from the wall, I got a 100-inch diagonal image. The maximum distance that the N1 Ultra can cover is 300 inches. The JMGO website has a special calculator that allows you to calculate at what distance the projector is in order to get an image with the desired diagonal.

The image diagonal can reach 300 inches.

Android TV version 11 is used as software processing. There is a Google Play application store, and you can also store your applications on flash drives, which will surely appeal to fans. pirate video services.

And if you have a flash drive, you can simply copy them to the projector’s memory. The built-in database for applications and other files has a capacity of 27 GB.

The included remote control is nice for the night and has a minimum of buttons.

Android TV 11 also comes with built-in Google Assistant voice assistant and the ability to cast images to compatible devices using Chromecast. Included remote control with boom microphone Allows you to communicate with Google Assistant and control the projector using voice commands.

The projector also has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can connect it to the Internet to watch YouTube or movies from online cinemas, and you can connect a game controller to the Bluetooth and play games from Google Play.

Impressions from viewing. Very good, very

Pure Android, just the way we like it.

The turned on projector gathered the entire editorial staff around it. At first, my colleagues were skeptical, but after several 4K videos and several concerts with good sound, the skepticism completely disappeared. Because it’s simply impossible to find fault with the image and sound quality of the JMGO N1 Ultra.

In daylight, the image is bright and contrasty. In the evening, we decided to do a real stress test and additionally illuminated the wall with two spotlights, trying to worsen the brightness of the picture. But even such an ultimatum step could not defeat technology, and the N1 Ultra continues to broadcast an image almost as rich and bright as during the day.

So I can officially say: this projector can be used at any time of the day without danger. In the morning, afternoon and evening, the picture will be of equal quality and pleasing to the eye.

To summarize, I will list the main advantages of the JMGO N1 Ultra laser projector:

● the laser does not require lamp replacement
● 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
● excellent contrast
● works silently
● loud and clear built-in sound
● there is 3D support
● built-in Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth.
● delivery included

This is the king projector. Points to all the money.

Next we need to list the cons, but we didn’t find any. I mean, seriously, I tried to find fault with something with the entire editorial staff, but alas. This projector performs its basic functions perfectly, delivering bright images of excellent quality. It has a full-fledged built-in Android TV of the latest version and works silently. Well, only if the weight of more than 4 kilograms can be embarrassing, but to be honest, I looked heavier.

So, if you’ve been looking at buying a new TV, stop. Take a look at the JMGO N1 Ultra projector, the only one in my memory that has more advantages than a TV. The price of this device is now 269,990 rubles, but for that kind of money you will never find a TV whose diagonal can change up to 300 inches inclusive with a simple movement of the hand.

And JMGO N1 Ultra can do this, and even without loss of image quality. Now I want one for myself so I can watch all my favorite films and get new impressions. And I recommend it to you.
