American startup Humane, originally from Apple, presented a wearable AI Pin with an artificial intelligence assistant. It is equipped with a microphone, camera and sensors, but it does not have a screen: it displays a projection with information in the user’s palm. The device is controlled by voice or gestures and sales will begin on November 16 at a price of $699.
The startup, founded by former Apple employees, announced the start of sales of AI Pin. It is a wearable device in the form of a brooch, which is a personal assistant with artificial intelligence functions. The AI Pin can be attached to clothing or attached with a magnet.
The device is equipped with a microphone, camera, and depth and motion sensors. AI Pin has no screen: it transmits all information through a projector to the user’s palm. You can control the device using voice or gestures.
The hardware of the device consists of an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of physical memory, support for LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS. The camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels.
AI Pin pre-order will be open on November 16 on the project website. The device sells for $699.
The startup Humane was founded in 2017 by Bettany Bongiorno and Imran Chaudhry, former design director at Apple. According to Crunchbase, the total investment raised by the startup is $230 million.
