More than half of Russians support shortening the work week by one hour, according to the survey. Women are more likely to favor cuts than men, and those who opposed the proposal fear their salaries will be reduced.
61% of Russians were in favor of reducing the working week by one hour. This is clear from the results of a survey carried out on the SuperJob service.
Women were more likely than men to support reducing weekly work hours from 40 to 39 (67% vs. 56%). At the same time, 16% of respondents spoke out against the reduction: they fear that their salaries will be reduced.
According to the survey, 70% of respondents work full time on Fridays, only 28% reduce it by one hour.
Previously, a bill to reduce the working week from 40 to 39 hours was submitted to the State Duma. Currently, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the working week is at least 40 hours.
