The device, which was said to be the first iPhone without a frame and buttons, was significantly different from its predecessors in terms of design.

The iPhone 9 was supposed to eliminate the Home button, a feature of previous iPhone models, and move the fingerprint sensor to the back panel, like many Android smartphones of the time.

However, for reasons not yet disclosed, Apple decided to abandon the launch of this model. Despite the fact that the assembly process was almost debugged and Foxconn had already prepared a batch of working prototypes, the tech giant chose a different path.

Instead, Apple released the iPhone X, which introduced a new design and form factor that continues to influence the manufacturer’s flagship smartphones today.
