A key element of the preparation for the introduction of unmanned systems will be a simulator for operators. This simulator will train experts who monitor the operation of unmanned trains. Russian Railways is already certifying the new Lastochka electric train, which is expected to operate without a driver. The train will automatically provide passenger transportation and will be able to respond to various obstacles.

The training system will automatically record training progress, provide a variety of training tasks and simulate real-life training situations. It is stated that all technologies used in this project will be Russian. Belozerov assured that “Swallow” will be a purely Russian project and all software will be domestic. Russian Railways plans to demonstrate unmanned operation of Lastochka trains in the summer of 2024.
