Russia to close visa centers in Paris, Marseille, Nice and Strasbourg from November 24

Russia will close four visa centers in France. This was reported by the Russian embassy.

Visa centers in Paris, Marseille, Nice and Strasbourg will close from November 24. The embassy recommended that visa issues be resolved in consultations or at the Russian Foreign Ministry in Villefranche-sur-Mer.

The consulate did not explain the decision to close the visa centers.

In September 2022, at the initiative of the European Union, the agreement on a simplified visa regime between France and Russia was terminated. For this reason, the visa fee for Russians increased from 35 to 80 euros and the term for obtaining a visa increased significantly.
