They provide power control, reactor control and compensation for changes in reactivity. It is important that groups work independently of each other, ensuring reliability even if one of them fails.
Project 10510 provides for the creation of icebreakers capable of breaking ice up to four meters thick and the laying of channels about fifty meters wide. The first of these icebreakers, Rossiya, is equipped with two RITM-400 reactor units with a total shaft power of up to 120 MW. The construction of this icebreaker started in 2020 and is planned to be put into operation in 2027.
