Consultant dermatologist Dr. Eva Meleg gives some tips for caring for mature skin during the cold months.
Cleansing and peeling. Do not exfoliate more than twice a week. Instead, also use a daily gentle cleanser that does not contain water. Also, do not wash your face with water too often.
Shower. Dr. Meleg recommended taking hot, short showers to prevent skin irritation. Moisturize your skin immediately after showering.
UV protection. This is very important for the preservation and protection of mature skin in winter. Use a cream with at least SPF 20. Also make sure that the cream contains moisturizing ingredients and is suitable for sensitive skin.
Moisturising cream. Apply to your skin before you start applying make-up. You can also use serum instead of cream because it absorbs faster and blends better under cosmetics.
Lip Care. Lip balm will help relieve dryness.
