99 recently announced that it will implement a new security feature to show passenger photos to drivers who have agreed to drive. According to the company, the measure should improve users’ overall experience because the trend is that drivers are accepting more and more rides.
99 in the testing phase of the feature, 90% of drivers said they felt safer with the preventionand 82% believe the photo is an important factor in identifying the passenger. Therefore, the new practice should make it easier for the two parties to meet without major problems, as is often the case on crowded streets.
According to Leandro Abecassis, 99-year-old Director of Product and Experience, the company “sensitizes travelers to posting a photo because it’s a small attitude that makes a lot of difference to the driver, and with that, the quality of service improves”.
In a statement, the brand states Adding an image takes no more than 15 seconds. The photo can be taken at that moment with the smartphone’s camera or added by selecting a photo from the device’s gallery.
As soon as the resource starts approaching the embarkation point, it will be visible to the driver and will allow the person waiting for it to verify that it corresponds to the person requesting the ride. Currently, the 99 app only shows information such as grade, attendance, and document verification.
