Modern displays on Apple devices have a viewing angle of 170°, making it easy to see the screen of your iPhone, iPad or Mac in a different way.

Apple has filed two new patents related to transferring information to the Mac, and they may also apply other company methods.

The first patent, “Protective Films for Curved Displays,” is a special screen coating that limits light emission in one direction.

Being directly in front of the screen, the user can see the image in full and in standby mode. However, other people who try to look at even a slight angle from this position end up with either a completely dark or blurry image.

There is also a second patent, “Displays with adjustable viewing angles.” It’s designed for flat screens and allows you to adjust the view on your Mac in real time.

In this way, the user can control the polarization of the screen through a set of options, limiting the visibility of the adjustment at different angles. An LCD element can also be used to limit the visibility of certain colors when the screen is not viewed from an angle.

As always, these are just patents for now. And it is unknown when they will get to the final products.
