Gayane Panova, scientific director of the project, expressed her satisfaction with the results, drawing attention to the high efficiency of the developed system. Scientists also showed that in such greenhouses it is possible to grow up to 100 kg of cucumbers, 29 kg of tomatoes, 11 kg of sweet peppers and up to 149 kg of cabbage per square meter per year.

After successful experiments with cucumbers in the East, scientists will focus on growing wild berries. The new complex, scheduled to become operational in 2024, will help improve the nutrition of polar explorers, providing them with fresh vegetables and possibly fruit directly from greenhouses in Antarctica.
